Brian Robison has performed as a singer, instrumentalist, and conductor in a broad variety of styles, ranging from Lassus to Ligeti. He studied composition with Burt Fenner at Penn State, and recently earned his doctorate at Cornell University, where his principal teachers were Steven Stucky, Karel Husa, and Roberto Sierra. He also studied with Philippe Manoury and Tristan Murail at the Amerian Conservatory at Fontainebleau, where he was awarded the Prix Maurice Ravel in 1991. Robison currently teaches in School of Music at Ithaca College.
