IN MEMORIAM GREGORY NORMAN SHORT (1938-1999)

The American Music Center regrets the passing of Gregory Norman Short, a composer and former member of the AMC. Mr. Short died of a heart attack on April 1, 1999 in Island County WA. A composer of over 300 individual works ranging from piano teaching materials to large symphonic scores, Mr. Short received performances of his music in Europe, Canada and throughout the United States. He performed with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, on television and radio, and founded musical organizations to encourage the performance of new music in the Northwest. Mr. Short is survived by his two children.
