Charles Ives Scholarship: Laurie San Martin

Laurie San Martin is a composer and clarinetist, currently pursuing a Ph.D. in theory and composition at Brandeis University. A native of Berkeley, California, she holds degrees from the University of California at Davis and the University of California at Berkeley. Her works have been performed by Speculum Musicae, Auros Group for New Music, the Warebrook Contemporary Music Festival of Vermont and the Left Coast Ensemble of San Francisco. She has been honored by the International Alliance for Women in Music, the ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer's Awards, and has received the Margaret Blackwell Memorial Prize in Composition.
