Charles Ives Scholarship: John Kaefer

John Kaefer is a graduate student in composition at Yale University. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Eastman School. His principal teachers include David Del Tredici, Alvin Singleton, Ezra Laderman, Christopher Rouse, David Liptak, Augusta Read Thomas, and Joseph Schwantner. He has studied at the Oregon Bach Festival, La Schola Cantorum, Aspen Music School, and in the Preparatory Division of the Manhattan School of Music. He has been honored for his compositions by the ASCAP Foundation, the Bergan Festival of New Jersey, the International Clarinet Association, the New Jersey MTNA-CPP/Belwin Student Competition, and the National Guild of Community School of the Arts.
