Configuring the forum for your use

1. To customize the forum display for your personal use, click on the Options button at the top of the page.
2. You can then select the specific forums, display settings, and number and type of messages you will see in the forum by clicking on the appropriate items.
3.Press OK.

Email notification
1. To be notified by email of any new messages posted in a specific thread, click on "From Marked Threads" in E-mail Notification, enter your email address in Personal, and press OK.

2. In the main conference page, click on the small bullet symbol between the message date to the right and the page icon to the left. The bullet changes to indicate that it is marked.

Reading and posting messages in the forum

1. To read a message, select the forum thread. When the thread page opens, click on a message hyperlink to scroll to where the message begins.

2. You can post a message in one of three ways:

• A reply to an existing message:
  1. Select the thread.
  2. Click on the Reply button.
  3. Enter your message.
  4. Click on Post to post your message (or Preview to preview the message before posting it)

• A new message in an existing thread
  1. Select the thread.
  2. Select "Post new message in this thread".
  3. Enter your message.
  4. Click on Post to post your message (or Preview to preview the message before posting it)

• As a new message initiating a new thread
  1. From the main conference page, click on the New Thread button.
  2. Enter a topic for your new thread.
  3. Select the forum in which you want the thread to appear and click OK.
  4. Enter the message
  5. Click on Post to post your message (or Preview to preview the message before posting it)

Definitions

Conference
The forum that resides on NewMusicBox.

Forum
Individual topics in the conference, such as "In The Second Person," and "Hymn & Fuguing Tune."

Thread
Created in a forum to narrow the discussion to a particular topic in that forum.

Message
Posted by end users in reply to existing messages, to create a new thread, or to add a new message to an existing thread.
