Favorite 2012 musical moment:
Third Coast Percussion’s world premiere performance of Resounding Earth at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center at The University of Notre Dame, which co-commissioned the piece. It’s a composition for 300 pieces of metal, featuring 120 bells from a wide variety of cultures and historical periods.
Looking forward to in 2013:
Three exciting performances: the Boston Symphony’s world premiere of Cello Concerto No. 3 with Lynn Harrell, the world premiere of Harvest Drum for orchestra at The National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, and the world premiere of Aureole for orchestra, commissioned by DePaul University, under Cliff Colnot at Orchestra Hall in Chicago.
