I have an enthusiasm for Turkish classical chamber music (not Turkish popular music—such as that used by belly dancers, for instance) and for City of Glass by Robert F. Graettinger (1923-1957). [The Graettinger CD is Channel Crossings CCS 6394.] Then there is the astounding Huun-Huur-Tu, the Tuvan throat singers [On CD: The Orphans’s Lament, Shanachie 64058.] I also find the Tibetan monks‘ choral singing and their use of the long wind instruments highly absorbing.
