The Friday Informer: Oh, The Places You’ll Go

This week in music blogland everyone who’s still awake at the keyboard and typing seems to be musing over finding people involved in things they probably shouldn’t be. Or not finding them involved in things they should be.

This should not be confused with discussions of the people brave enough to go places no one ever thought to expect them. No, send those people checks. Of course, soon we may also have to also send these people checks, but sadly, donations and the good will of the people were not enough to save this offline institution.

Across the sea, some people are actually getting new music spaces to call home. (And it’s an amazing looking place, so hopefully this dude has mellowed with age—or at least lost his C-4 connection.) But with the way things are going on our own shores, where will interesting music be performed? On park benches? In the forest? It may very well be a digital age, but the New York Times needs those trees to print newspapers just to keep their arts section organized. As for the rest of you, if you haven’t updated your blog in a while—you know who you are, and so do I—steal this idea and confess.
