Sounds Like PBS
Here’s a cute little video on the development of New York Public Television’s WNET/Thirteen/WLIW new musical station branding. It includes brief sound bites from the Juilliard composer who wrote the music, Niccolo Athens, and session conductor Jeffrey Milarsky, plus shots of the orchestra recording the themes. Take-away quote from the video: “Within a month they’re going to be in the real world doing soundtracks, doing movies, doing commercials, doing jingles, and this is really a great pedagogical exercise for them right before they graduate,” says Milarsky.
