“A composer is a guy who goes around forcing his will on unsuspecting air molecules, often with the assistance of unsuspecting musicians.”

Frank Zappa was many things—many audacious, innovative, and sometimes hysterically funny things. He was also a composer of work for mixed ensemble and for orchestra, and Schott Music has announced that they now represent that catalog, a.k.a. Munchkin Music. Scored for a range of ensemble types—from brass quintet and drum set, to full orchestra with chorus—their list of 25 Zappa works offers a host of cleverly titled compositions, including commissions from Pierre Boulez (Ensemble InterContemporain) and the Ensemble Modern.
