Memorial Concert for George Perle Announced

A memorial concert for composer George Perle will be held at Merkin Concert Hall in New York City on June 2, 2009, at 11 a.m. The performance is free and open to the public. The concert will include performances by the Daedalus Quartet, the Da Capo Chamber Players, Leon Fleisher, Seymour Lipkin, Molly Morkoski, Lucy Shelton, Morey Ritt, and others.

Perle died in New York on January 23, 2009. He was 93. A remembrance in his honor by his former student, Steven L. Rosenhaus, is posted here.
