In response to the economic crisis, Meet The Composer has announced that it is doubling the amount of money to be given out through its Commissioning Music/USA program (from $150,000 to $300,000), as well as offering $150,000 to small ensembles and presenters in New York City. This increase is made possible in part by special support from the Mary Flagler Cary Charitable Trust.

To provide more time for artists and organizations to make use of this opportunity, MTC has extended the Commissioning Music/USA application deadline, which was originally March 13, to April 6. All other guidelines of the program remain in place. See the program description and guidelines here for further details. More details about the support for small ensembles and presenters in New York City will be announced soon.—Condensed from the press release
