Boom Times for the Art Song: A HyperHistory of Poetry and Music
The New York Festival of Song (NYFOS) presented an evening of nineteen new songs on Thursday, March 22, 2001 at the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College in New York City. Entitled “Songbook for a New Century,” the program’s participants included soprano Jennifer Aylmer, mezzo-soprano Theodora Hanslowe, tenor Ted Schmitz, and baritone Mel Ulrich. Michael Barrett and Steven Blier, Artistic Directors of NYFOS, played the piano.
