Aye Chihuahua!

I wonder, would it be possible to generate any internet buzz by releasing a video of some crazy new music composition and invite folks to film their reactions à la Beverly Hills Chihuahua-style?

Recently, the internet junkies have been amusing themselves by filming their own initial reaction to the trailer for Beverly Hills Chihuahua. If you haven’t yet seen this Disney-created train wreck of singing/dancing/rapping canines, you can afflict yourself here (I highly recommend the Sixth Sense mash-up version if you want to go in for another look.) All this snark-filled cyber amusement reminds me a little bit of last year’s three day-long laughing fit on Howard Stern’s radio show instigated by Zs album Arms.

I wonder, would it be possible to generate any internet buzz by releasing a video of some crazy new music composition and invite folks to film their reactions à la Beverly Hills Chihuahua-style? Let’s face it, most people out there think that what we do is really weird or just downright silly, so why not let them gawk in befuddled amusement? Of course the problem is that the general public would be laughing at us, not with us. The solution is simple: write a satirical composition mocking the new music scene, squarely aimed at general consumption. What a minute here… This sounds suspiciously too close to postmodernism—whatever that is.
